2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
1 cup onion (chopped)
2 whole garlic cloves (minced)
1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
1/2 cup white wine
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 whole bay leaf
1 package (16 oz.) uncooked spaghetti
1 pound clams
2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
1 pound shrimp
1 pound scallops
1 whole garlic clove (minced)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  1. Heat 2 teaspoons olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat, and cook the onion and garlic until tender. Mix in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, wine, sugar, salt, oregano, red pepper, and bay leaf. Simmer uncovered 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Place spaghetti in the pot, cook 8 to 10 minutes, until al dente, and drain.
